The Department of Pathology is responsible for quantitative and qualitative analysis and interpretation of patient specimens, including tissue, blood, urine, and other body fluids. The Department of Pathology has been at the forefront of introducing new testing methods for clinical and research uses. In addition to providing an ever-expanding menu of tests available for clinical use, Educational activities are a key component of the departmental mission. Pathology Department provides a wide variety of clinical tests and investigations using a Laboratory Automation System / Laboratory Information System. Empowered with a highly qualified and experienced team of qualified Haematologists, Chemical Pathologist, Microbiologist and Histopathologist. We operate 24/7 to guarantee fast results, and more importantly, accurate results monitored by both internal and external quality assurance programs.
Our wide service range includes Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, cytology, immune-hematology, serology, parasitology, immunology, clinical pathology, endocrinology, coagulation, histopathology and infectious diseases. Bone Marrow Biopsy facility is also available at Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital.

Blood Bank Facility
We believe safe blood saves lives. Blood Bank at Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital is among one of the best blood bank in the city and is ISO-9001 certified. Blood is collected exclusively from nonprofessional donors. All the blood is screened for Hepatitis B and C, HIV, Syphilis and Malaria. Screening is done by ELISA / CLIA as recommended by WHO.
Blood processing, storage and transportation is done as per laid down international standards. Blood donation and collection is available round the clock. We have extensive supply units of packed red cell and FFP.
