The Department of Pediatrics at Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital is committed to provide state-of-the-art clinical services and quality care to children. The Department consists of a group of dedicated full-time faculty.
We provide comprehensive Neonatal and Pediatric advanced life support facilities under one roof in addition to a thoroughly dependable general pediatric care.
The Inpatient department consists of a pediatric ward with two units comprising of 39 beds, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with facility of admitting 9 neonates along with ventilator support. Round the clock emergency care looked after by fully trained pediatric medical officers / PGRs and nursing staff.  In addition, the sick children are admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) also.
The emergency services provided round the clock throughout the year. The staff includes senior medical officers, Senior Registrar, PGRs and House officers.  One Medical officer is always available on call in emergency (ER) 24/7. In addition, one senior faculty member provides on call consultant service. The staff is trained to deal with all sorts of pediatric emergencies.
The hospital provides high quality comprehensive clinical care and services to infants, children and adolescents, and is sensitive to the changing needs of our community and society. It provides unique healthcare services 24/7 and is made up of the following:-

It is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week, by accredited pediatric specialists who have experience in the management of emergencies. It is well equipped for both serious injuries and minor illnesses in order to cope with the needs of pediatric patients and is staffed with specialized pediatric nurses 24/7.

It has a 7 bed capacity and provides the best medical services for healthy babies, including newborn care, nutrition, eye and umbilical care, and follows the hospital’s infection control policy. Breastfeeding is strongly recommended and encouraged at our hospital, which is why we provide mothers the support they need and the expertise of a team of educators.

It consists of consulting clinics that provide general pediatrics and neonatology services, in addition to pediatric surgery, nephrology, urology, gastroenterology and orthopedic surgery. The clinics are furnished and equipped in a way that satisfies the comfort and needs of our visitors.

It has beds for admitted hospital patients who are supervised by the consultants in-charge and those who are on call. It provides care for acute gastroenteritis, croup, bronchiolitis, pneumonia septicemia, meningitis, encephalitis, bronchial asthma, seizure disorder, diabetes mellitus, nephritic syndrome, etc.

It is a 9 bed unit under the operations of well-trained accredited pediatricians who are experts in neonatal intensive care management. It is equipped with the most up-to-date machines and facilities needed for the care of sick and high-risk newborns delivered. It also provides the intensive care needed for babies diagnosed with preterm, pneumonia, meconium aspiration, sepsis, convulsions, birth asphyxia, persistent pulmonary hypertension, babies etc.

It provides medical care for patients who are critically sick including severe or potentially life threatening cardiac, respiratory, endocrinal, neurological or surgical problems. It is supervised by in-charge and on call consultant pediatricians.
